Promoting and defending democracy at home and abroad!

Support our work in promoting and defending democracy! Donate to our first crowdfunder which has just launched.

On 26 February 2022, the International Association for Democracy (IAD) was founded by a few individuals in response to an increasing threat to democracies around the globe. Their goal was to promote and defend democracy around the world and reverse the trend of countries moving towards authoritarianism.

That’s why at IAD, we raise public awareness about the current state of democracy around the world and what needs to be done to better defend and promote democracy. In addition to that, we lobby governments, urging them to do more to promote and defend democracy, both domestically and internationally.

IAD has taken major strides since its foundation, we are now a registered Charity in Scotland with over 40 volunteers from over 10 countries. We have had our Op-Eds featured on trusted news websites such as Euronews and EurActiv, run successful social media awareness campaigns and have increased our presence online to ensure our message reaches the wider public, all of which contributes to IAD’s mission of promoting and defending democracy around the world.

On 26 February 2024, IAD will celebrate its second anniversary and though we’ve done a fair bit in 2 years, there is much yet to be done.

For us at IAD, it’s imperative that we continue to advocate for those who aren’t fortunate enough to live in a democracy or for those who are living in countries experiencing a turn towards authoritarianism. We need funds to sustain and broaden our operations and to achieve our goals. Whilst we are able to benefit from the incredible work of our volunteers, we require funding to cover costs that are essential to our communication, promotional and operational activities.

That’s why in the build-up to our second anniversary we are asking for your support. By donating you are helping us on our journey to help guarantee a more secure, stable and fair world by promoting and defending democracy around the globe. Thank you.
